1.1 How Lynk Pay works
Why it matters. Most customers already pay by mobile money. A business that can only take cash or a MoMo transfer to the owner's own number loses track of who paid, and loses the customer who wanted to pay now. Lynk Pay fixes both.
- The business sends a way to pay: a payment link, an invoice, a quote that becomes an invoice, or a Pay button on its website, shop or booking page.
- The customer pays by Mobile Money or card.
- The money is paid out to the business's own payout account: a Mobile Money number or bank account in the business's name.
| Test mode | Live mode | |
|---|---|---|
| Real money? | No | Yes |
| Needs | Nothing | The owner verified, and an approved payout account |
The fee. Each payment has a small fee. Under Who pays the Lynk Pay fee?, choose I pay the fee (it comes out of what the business receives) or My customer pays the fee (it's added on top for them). The fee shown at checkout is always the right one.
Lynk Pay is not the Lynk balance. Lynk Pay is the business's money from its customers. The Lynk balance pays for Lynk's own services, like text messages.
