1.1 The seven rules of a flyer
Why it matters. Most small businesses post when they remember, with flyers people scroll past, and never hear from a customer twice. This course fixes that: flyers people read, then messages that bring customers back on their own.
A flyer gets about two seconds. Lynk's art director checks every flyer against these rules:
- One clear headline is the biggest text. One short line under it. Contact details smallest, together in one row.
- Strong contrast for every word. Light on dark, dark on light. A solid band behind text on a busy photo.
- A safe margin. Nothing within about 5% of the edges.
- A clear grid with even spacing. Nothing overlaps or crowds.
- At most two typefaces.
- One main picture. Brand colours as accents, not everywhere.
- Every word spelled right. No placeholder text. Read the phone number twice.
People read a good flyer in this order: the headline, the picture, the line under it, the business name, then how to reach them.
